About Us | The Cotton Textile Company
About Sam and Richard
After 20 years of working in the textiles sector, Richard couldn’t ignore an entrepreneurial calling any longer. He created TCTC in 2013, specialising in bespoke towelling at first and slowly growing the product range through the years. Initially working out of his kitchen, but moved to our offices a year later. A great lover of the outdoors, Richard enjoys sailing, walking and he is equally as happy to be indoors getting creative in the kitchen.
Sam left her job in TV broadcasting in 2017, deciding to share Richard’s exciting journey. She has a passion for excellent customer service, obsessive attention to detail, and operational expertise. Sam loves to watch live music and regularly practices yoga. She has recently taken up paddle boarding and has set herself a challenge is to see if she can do a tree pose on the board without falling into the water!
The Cotton Textile Company – Brentwood HQ & Warehouse
Pip has a background in print and embroidery and joined the team as our Production Assistant in 2018. She manages our towel, clothing, and sock projects and loves nothing more than working with our clients to deliver the perfect project on time. Pip is a great organiser and always happy to contribute to various office activities and last but not least, entertains us every day with her beautiful singing.
After relaunching a global watch and jewellery brand, Kirsty joined us to bring her passion to garment manufacturing and help create our label ranges. An expert in digital marketing during the day and a lover of cooking and fine dining, Kirsty will stop us from going hungry on every level.
Freddie has joined the team to do his apprenticeship. He is learning customer service and customer relationships because he wants a career in sales and marketing. The Cotton Textile Company allows him to stretch his creative and communications skills. Freddie has a love for all sports and is an avid West Ham United supporter.
Cheryl is our gorgeous designer and lives in Devon, close to the banks of the River Tamar. Cheryl works with the client’s brief and brand guidelines to create detailed design visuals, turning an idea into reality. Working with Richard for 20 years, she has designed and produced for many lifestyle brands in the UK and created workwear for some of the UK’s biggest retailers. Along with her husband and two children, Cheryl spends her spare time outdoors enjoying the Devonshire countryside and beaches.
Graham is a squash enthusiast with over 30 years of experience in exhibitions and events. Due to the covid pandemic, he took a career change to manage our embroidery at Branded Workwear. Graham has taken to his new position like a duck to water. Speaking of water, he’s currently converting a Dutch barge into a houseboat. He’s not afraid of new challenges bringing high morale to the office.
Caroline has worked with Graham for over ten years and assists embroidery at Branded Workwear. As a mum of three, she has her hands full. Embroidery by day, fitness instructor by night Caroline, is an appreciable addition to the team.
And then we have Ziggy, our English springer spaniel who loves playing ball with our delivery drivers and importantly, ensures we get out of the office every day for some lunchtime R&R.
The team in Cornwall
Our brainy accounts team, Ewart and Jennifer, our website wizard Jon, and our super-smart lawyer Johnny all work in Cornwall, where we also have a base. They are living the dream, keeping the wheels of TCTC turning and weekending on the beautiful Cornish beaches.
The office in Turkey
Bora and Berna work on our bespoke clothing and accessory projects. Berna spent many years working as a senior merchandiser in Istanbul and has joined our team as production manager. Her husband Bora has worked as a garment tech and QC, and together with Berna, Pip and Sam, make sure every stitch, hem, zip, and buttonhole are flawless.
